Public Statement: ReportOUT Respond to UK Supreme Court's Ruling On Biological Sex.

ReportOUT has concerns, that are shared by the wider LGBTQ+ community, that today’s ruling by the Supreme Court will have a negative and lasting impact on the trans community.  

While the court assured that the rights of trans people are protected under the Equality Act and the protected characteristic of Gender Reassignment, there are those who will see this as a triumph over this minoritised group. We have already seen celebrations because of the ruling.  

As the UK Government is still yet to proceed with the blanket ban on conversion therapy this seems to be another blow to the LGBTQ+ communities.
