What is the drop-in about?

The OUT and Safe North East, hosted by ReportOUT, is a welcoming and inclusive weekly drop-in designed specifically for LGBTQ+ migrants living in the North East of England. Whether you are new to the area, or have been here a while, this safe and supportive space is open to everyone from across the LGBTQ+ migrant community (whether you are working here, seeking asylum, are a refugee, or you are an international student).

Each weekly session will offer a mix of activities, advice, and support to help you settle, connect, and thrive. It’s a chance to make new friends, share experiences, and build a supportive community in a relaxed and respectful environment. From practical guidance to fun, social events and creative sessions, OUT and Safe North East is here to support your journey and celebrate who you are.

What else can I do at the drop-in?

If you do not want to get involved with the weeks planned activities, we also have snooker and pool, board games and jigsaws, a sofa space to play games on the Nintendo Switch or to watch LGBTQI+ films and documentaries, or you can just read a book, or sit with a laptop, and chill. Tea and coffee are available to everyone who attends, including a warm welcome.
