What does this role do?
Events Officers are vital to the work of ReportOUT, acting as the bridge between research, campaigns, and the public. They transform complex human rights issues into accessible, engaging spaces for dialogue, whether through community events, briefings, or public discussions, helping people connect emotionally and practically with ReportOUT’s mission. By coordinating safe, inclusive, and well-run events, Events Officers create opportunities for learning, solidarity, and action, while also strengthening partnerships, amplifying marginalised voices, and raising the organisation’s profile. Their role is essential for building trust, visibility, and momentum, ensuring that ReportOUT’s research and advocacy reach the people who can engage with it, support it, and help turn evidence into impact. You will:

  • Contact speakers for events, ensuring relevant checks have taken place.

  • Design a calendar of fun, informative and engaging online and offline events for ReportOUT, some of which will be to raise money for the charity, others will be awareness raising.

  • Align our research findings to be diseminated via events, if suitable.

  • Seek out sponsorships for events.

  • Measure the success of our events using feedback forms and data.

Essential skills, experience, or qualifications you need for this particular role:

  • Strong writing skills with a good level of English.

  • Confident enough to hold conversations and outreach toward sponsors.

  • Ability to carefully plan events, often with limited, or no budgets.

  • Proven ability to build relationships with a range of different people at all levels.

  • Able to use software such as Zoom and Streamyard (though training will be given)

  • Attention to detail and ability to align key dates into the diary for specific events.

  • Ability to work under press and meet tight deadlines

  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as using your own initiative.

  • Ability to travel to and from the ONE Centre, where we are based (address is in the footer of the website).

Desirable skills, experience, or qualifications:

  • Background in events management.
